Recent work includes the following:
- Representing one of a family of 4 owners of a farm, where our client is also the farming tenant, in relation to competing claims within the family and the sale of part of the land to the Local Authority by negotiation following service of a Compulsory Purchase Order.
- Concluding at mediation a litigated dispute over defective building work at commercial premises in Harrogate, and pursuing enforcement of the settlement agreement before and after sale of the business to a third party.
- Defending a local business against repeated and unfounded allegations of racial and religious discrimination in the Leeds Employment Tribunal.
- Pursuing a case under the TUPE regulations on behalf of former employees of a business in Hull.
- Presenting and pursuing a £1m plus claim for a Surrey based client against a major UK food production conglomerate, for the right to a share in energy costs savings.
- Bringing to settlement a claim by a Wiltshire client for loss of profit arising from breach of a “handshake” agreement.
- Negotiating and settling a claim by a franchisee for misrepresentation and breach of contract.
- Negotiating terms on which a family sharing our client’s house under an informal financial arrangement agreed to leave the property when the relationships started to break down.
- Arranging lease, lease renewal, and sequential funding arrangements for a new business in York during its development phase; including advising on employment and contract issues.
- Representing family members in various disputes over administration of estates, sale of property, division of the assets, and provision for minors.
- Drafting three-way contract terms for proposals for the supply and delivery of software-backed management accreditation process to a public sector service provider.
